At present I think there's a chance that civil war could be avoided but it's contingent upon a pretty rapid withdrawal. They're not always accurately sourced. The US State Dept. in particular doesn't like them - and they <i>have</i> been known to do - well to do exactly as embedded journalists do day in day out - parrot whatever the spokesman says. That being said if you dig a bit you often find that what they say is true. I'd give a lot of credence to the factual aspects of the report of Abd ar-Razzaq's body being found for example. But you've spotted what I'm trying to do - point out that <b>this is what is very widely read and believed</b> throughout the region. You noticed :-) Take these stories with several grains of salt.
