"On Sunday, a US logistics convoy was attacked by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad, killing one civilian believed to be a Pakistani truck driver and wounding three American soldiers, the military and Iraqi police said on Monday. The attack occurred near Taji, about 12 miles north of Baghdad, where a major US air base is located, said military spokesman Maj Joseph Todd Breasseale. The three wounded soldiers were taken to a military hospital for treatment, he said. Iraqi police Lt Alaa Kamal said that the convoy consisted of three fuel tankers and another truck, which was destroyed by fire. Police found the body of the vehicle’s driver inside the truck and identity documents indicated that he was Pakistani."

Attacks upon supply convoys which are incapable of defending themselves have now been going on for a long time, now however the incidence, already high, is increasing markedly. The use of such indefensible convoys is a direct result of Secetary Rumsfeld’s "reform" of the US armed forces logistical wing.
I won’t insult my readers’ intelligence by explaining the significance, or what it means for the "withdraw to bases" plan.

I noticed you linked to the PNAC (project for a New American Century) report. That was thier plan all along, of course, and what a failure, a complete failure. No plan so based on hate, arrogance, greed and twenty more things can ever succeed. They talk about the budget surplus left by Bill Clinton and imagine that it will last forever and that it is thiers to spend on thier crimes, which they have done only it didn’t regenerate, it disappeared into the pockets of defense contractors and Halliburton companies, not to mention quite a few private overseas bank accounts. They let thousands drown and rubbed thier hands together as they sign thier illegal contracts. And they ignore the blood and screams of Iraqi innocents as they manipulate Iraqis and the British and Americans inot believing there is some plan for PEACE, total bullshit.
Bush has finally begun to fall and his republican cronies are seeing what we have always known, that he is an incompetent, illiterate fool who is like a 14 year old who has never had a spanking and whose Daddy always cleans up his stupid messes. His cabinet has failed at every aspect of this presidency and even his beloved coporate media is turning against him. There is a bill of Impeachment in the House of Representatives, but the Majority Leader has his pockets lined and sits like a monster at the gate.
